Retrosaria Vovó
Retrosaria Vovó is a versatile and hard-wearing non-superwash yarn made entirely from fine Portuguese wool, mainly from Serra da Estrela sheep. It is an excellent choice for knitting everyday sweaters and cardigans.
Vovó is spun from the wool of free-range sheep. Mulesing is not practised in Portugal. Like all Retrosaria yarns, Vovó is non-superwash and not bleached.
A special batch of Vovó has been made from the wool of the Campaniça sheep that live at Quinta do Pisão, Cascais. Shade 20 is the natural undyed version of this batch and shades 21 through to 28 have been dyed which creates beautiful pastel colours making Vovó even more versatile for knitting colourwork projects.
Fun fact - Vovó means grandma in Portuguese.
